Graduate Muslim Club, in collaboration with Muslim Students' Association at The Ohio State University present an academic lecture on "Introduction to Islamic Finance" by a field specialist, Mufti Muhammad Umer Abbasi.
Topics to be covered in this lecture include: concepts behind Islamic Finance, differences between Islamic Finance and conventional Finance, Islamic law of contract as the basis, and various relevant products and services such as Islamic banking (i.e. interest-free banking), Islamic insurance (Takaful), home-financing, and others.
Primary audience of this talk are Muslims, but anyone interested in the topic and its applications, especially Economics and Finance students, is welcome to join!
The event will take place in Scott Lab, E525, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, on Wednesday, April 5th 2023.
