In celebration of the Trans Day of Visibility, the Center for Belonging and Social Change is partnering with Central Ohio’s Trans Talks for a community story-sharing event. This event will feature speakers from the local trans community and an open mic, so anyone can share their story who wants to.
The theme of the evening is: Thriving and Visibility. There is a cost to visibility, and it is high risk. Yet being invisible is impossible. How can we pursue our lives of authenticity while also being safe and protecting our futures? Some days this looks like self-care and some days it might look like protests, but it looks different for everyone. Join us to share the ways that you protect and nourish your identity. How do we care for ourselves while caring for each other?
The event will be at the Fawcett Center, in the Clinton Room. There is free parking for the event. Alternatively, you can get to the Fawcett Center by taking COTA bus #1 from High St. See the COTA Trip Planner for more details.
Light refreshments will be served.
If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Ari Grubaugh at grubaugh.20@osu.edu or 614-688-8449. Requests made one week in advance of the event will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
