Women's Community Mentorship Program

The Women's Community Mentorship Program provides students with the vital skills that will help them succeed in the classroom and beyond.

Program participants will learn how to cultivate their own strengths to build resiliency and success personally and professionally. The mentorship program offers an opportunity to enhance skills related to resume building, personal branding, self-care, personal finance, critical thinking and career readiness.

The program also provides students with an opportunity to connect with a community-based mentor in their related education or professional area of interest.

Registration is required to be paired with a mentor and is currently open!

Fourth Meeting: Imagining Creative Futures
Guest Speaker: Indigo Gonzales-Miller
Description: Indigo is a Two-Spirit Afro-Indigenous artist and medicine practitioner. In this session, we will envision our futures, our goals, and our wellbeing through guided artistry. Participants will be able to pick up art supplies for this session from the Multicultural Center Office.

Fifth Meeting: Resume and Cover Letters Workshop

Description: Danya Contractor from Buckeye Careers will lead a resume and cover letter workshop. Whether this is your first time writing a resume, or you are looking for tips to update and tailor your resume for a new opportunity, this workshop will provide you with relevant and practical information. We will also lay the foundation of resume-making by first discussing how to mindful of your career vision. Join us to learn more about what to include on your resume, how to format it and how to make it stand out.

Sixth Meeting: Salary Negotiation Workshop
Guest Speaker: Katy Hogan, John Glenn College of Public Affairs, Director of
Washington Programs
Description: Participants will learn about the gender pay gap, how to conduct market research for target salary, how to identify and articulate your personal value, and develop your own negotiation responses and strategies.
