National First-Generation Celebration Day

Date: Friday, November 8, 2024, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Location: Ohio Union, Center for Belonging and Social Change, Front Lounge

Cost: Free

November 8 is National First-Generation Celebration Day!

Join Ohio State as we recognize First-Gen Day across all of our campuses! This event is to celebrate the unique experiences of members of the Ohio State community who identify as first-generation college students.

Stop by the Center of Belonging and Social Change in the Ohio Union to get yourself some FirstGen swag, take a first-gen fabulous photo, and enjoy some sweet treats! We encourage all first-gen Buckeyes to attend -- students, staff, faculty, and alum!

Following this event, folks from across Ohio State will meet at the South Oval at 1:15 p.m. for a FirstGen celebratory photo!

The term “first-generation college student” means different things to different people. Here at Ohio State, our definition refers to students whose parents have not completed a four-year degree.
