Unchained OSU, a student organization at The Ohio State University, has been using fashion to advocate for human trafficking victims since 2016. The annual fashion show utilizes local artists and student models to increase awareness about this prevalent issue in Ohio. The 2023 fashion show will occur on March 5th in the Ohio Union at 7 pm. The theme of this year’s fashion show is natural elements: earth, fire, water. Clothing pieces will reflect the theme as the show follows an individual’s journey through different stages of human trafficking. Given that the topic of human trafficking is complicated and heavy, the fashion show is a powerful way to educate the audience about the impacts of human trafficking. Funds raised from the fashion show will be donated to the Strategies for Success Scholarship, through She Has a Name, which supports human trafficking overcomers.
