Our names are often a reflection of our identities. While many go by the names given to them at birth, some choose new names of their own. This is especially common for those who are transgender, non-binary, and/or gender non-conforming.

In celebration of the Transgender Day of Visibility, the Student Life Multicultural Center is partnering with local groups TransOhio and Trans Talks for this open mic event. This program will offer a platform for folks to share the story behind their chosen name(s). There will be scheduled speakers, and with any remaining time, there will be an open mic for folks to come up and share the story behind their own name(s).

This event will be held in Cartoon Room 2, which is located on the 3rd floor of the Ohio Union. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP.

Would you like to speak at this event? Sign-up to share your story.
