LGBTQ*mmunity is a weekly group for students who are new to LGBTQ+ life at Ohio State or who have been here awhile and are looking for community. Whether you’re a first-year student, transfer student, newly out, or want to connect with Ohio State’s LGBTQ+ community, this group is for you!
This week, LGBTQ*mmunity is partnering with QTPOCC to attend a guest lecture by journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones, who rose to mainstream prominince following a series of articles she wrote for The New York Times on the history of slavery in the US, The 1619 Project. Hannah-Jones presents a powerful keynote on history, race and democracy that speaks directly to our current moment. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP.
Students can meet in the front lobby of the Multicultural Center at 5:45 p.m. and we will walk together to Mershon Auditorium, where the event will be held. Following the event, we will return to the MCC to have a discussion on Hannah-Jones' lecture.
If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Ari Grubaugh at grubaugh.20@osu.edu or 614-688-8449. Requests made one week in advance of the event will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
