The 45th African American Heritage Festival committee invites current students, Black alumni and friends to campus each fall for the Festival Homecoming Tailgate.
This pre-game event focuses on creating a space where current students and alum come together to celebrate the Homecoming tradition through centering the rich legacy and contributions of Black alumni while supporting community building and campus change efforts of current students. The tailgate features games, networking, music, and dancing as well as catering from Black alumi-owned restaurant "The Pit".
The Homecoming Tailgate will also be a great opportunity for the campus community to meet the event chairs and planning committees for this year’s African American Heritage Festival. Come out and join us! Music and games begin at 12:30 p.m. Food will be served at 1:00 p.m.
