Women's Coalition

Women focused student organizations and women-identifying students are invited to participate in the Women's Coalition of the Student Life Multicultural Center. This group is designed to connect current and future women-identified student leaders across campus.

Participants are empowered to network with their peers, share resources, knowledge, upcoming events and to discuss solutions to issues the community is facing. This group will also collaborate to plan events for women on campus for Women’s History Month and throughout the year.

This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month from 5 to 6 p.m.

 

Schedule:

2/23

We will be prepping and finalizing details for Women's History Month Program. Women student organizations will get the opportunity to ask for any advice or support that they need.

3/9

We will be discussing strategies for advertising events, what tools to utilize, best times to post, how to engage in social media, and sharing knowledge about how to effectively advertise programs.

3/23

We will be talking about the importance of data collection from programs beyond taking attendance. How do we know a program is successful, how to take perspective after a program to do self-reflection and evaluation.

4/13

We will discuss how to maintain connection with your student organization over the summer break. How do you keep the momentum going, how to do maintain involvement and still make room for taking a break and enjoying the summer.

This meeting will be a year end reflection space where participants can discuss the ups and downs of the past year and discuss strategies for taking care of ourselves and our communities during the summer break.
