 lesson outside your area of expertise and unsure where to begin? In this 
 session\, participants will identify challenges which emerge in teaching 
 unfamiliar topics and develop strategies for doing so without sacrificing
  instructional quality. Our focus will be on helping participants apply s
 trategies related to choosing\, organizing\, and teaching the course cont
 ent they anticipate covering in current\, future\, or hypothetical course
 s.\nMany graduate students will confront the challenges associated with c
 ourse design: either as a graduate student instructor\, while preparing m
 aterials for the academic job market\, or in their early career post-grad
 uation. This semester\, in Graduate Teaching Toolkit\, the Drake Institut
 e’s workshop series for graduate instructors\, we’ll explore each step of
  the course design process. Toolkit workshops are designed to support par
 ticipants’ professional development\, engage them in reflecting on\, disc
 ussing\, and sharing their teaching practices\, and build community betwe
 en graduate instructors on campus who are passionate about improving thei
 r teaching. All graduate students\, regardless of teaching experience\, a
 re welcome to attend.\nAs a result of attending this GTA Toolkit\, partic
 ipants will:&nbsp\;\n\n\nIdentify challenges surrounding teaching what yo
 u don’t know\n\n\nDescribe techniques to choose course content around lea
 rning goals and student experiences\n\n\nExplore methods to organize cour
